HELP TO IMPROVE IN ENGLISH
Success in English is so important as it will lead to success in all school subjects. Our lessons are designed to meet a student’s individual learning needs.
Tuition is available for all primary school children, K – 6. This can include preparing for Opportunity Class and Selective School Examinations.
We support high school students in the development of their literacy skills throughout Years 7 – 10. In Years 11 and 12, we help students prepare for the demands of the Higher School Certificate across all courses: Standard, Advanced and Extension 1 and 2.
Specific help is available in areas such as:
- Imaginative, informative and persuasive writing, especially with narratives and essay writing.
- Reading, phonics and comprehension.
- Spelling, punctuation, grammar and expanding a student’s vocabulary.
- Sentence and paragraph writing.
- Analysing texts and forms and understanding their techniques.
- Writing and delivering speeches for any audience and purpose.
- Understanding film and images.
- Understanding poetry.
- Preparing practical and effective study notes and improving exam technique with planning and timing.
